Ejari is an initiative of RERA aimed at regulating the Rental Market of Dubai. It is a novel system that will enable Law No. 26 of 2007 to become effective. It is designed to manage the relationship between concerned parties, namely the landlords and tenants in Dubai.
Q 2. Is Ejari registration mandatory?
Yes Ejari registration is mandatory under the Law No. 26 of 2007 and following amendments of Dubai law.
All contracts should be registered with Ejari to ensure that the Dubai rental market becomes one of the most transparent in the world and ensure peace of mind for both tenants and landlords alike.
Registering your tenancy contract in Dubai is now mandatory for:
New/renewal of residence visas

The Ejari Certificate is an official file generated by the Ejari online system and acts as proof of tenancy contract attestation.
Q 11. When will your certificate be delivered to you?
The Ejari certificate will be sent to your email normally within 4 hours, and no longer than24 hours, after receiving your application and payment.
If any document is missing, is not a clear copy or is incomplete then the registration process may be delayed until we get the complete set of required files.

Q 20. Can you access Ejari system and register the contract by yourself?
You need to register for an Ejari account first. Only landlords, landlord representatives, property management companies and its employees can apply for Ejari account.
A 1-day training course at RERA is mandatory, after you receive the certificate you need to visit the Land Department to complete the Ejari registration.
